The two-day conference was held at the Islamic Cultural Centre, London. The Supreme Council of Education, Science & Culture for Muslims outside the Islamic World is an initiative of The King Abdullah Ben Abdel Aziz Centre for Interfaith Dialogue. In his speech, The Chairman of the Dialogue Centre, His Excellency Mr Faisal Bin Muammar stressed the importance of interfaith dialogue for our world today and said that it is a necessity. Dialogue instead of conflict is the best way to respect Human Rights and avoid extremism.
Mehri Niknam represented the Foundation at the meeting. She met with His Excellency and discussed the longstanding cooperation between the Foundation and Central Mosque-Islamic Cultural Centre under the positive approach of DR Dubayan, the Director General of the Mosque and Centre. She specially spoke about the National Council of Imams & Rabbis whose members include Sheikh Khalifa the senior imam of the Central mosque. The project was welcomed by His Excellency as an excellent example of interfaith cooperation and it was agreed that the cooperation between the mosque and the foundation should continue and expand.
